Healthy eating is a popular New Year’s resolution, and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice going out with friends and family, or stay inside cooking all winter, just to stick to your goals. To help out, we’ve compiled a list of great restaurants, all nearby Spinnaker Bay, that offer healthy options. Keep reading for some of our favorite local recommendations that are just as delicious as they are nutritious.
Dining on-the-go doesn’t always have to equal
fast food. Here are some spots that offer more health-conscious eats than a
greasy burger and fries.
Sweetgreen in Harbor
East has a wide range of salads and bowls, full of colorful veggies and lean
protein. Plus, you can customize your own with your favorite toppings. Try a
traditional kale cesar salad, or check out the miso bowl, made with organic
wild rice, greens, toasted almonds, miso glazed vegetables, and blackened
Prefer something on the spicier side? Nando’s is famous for their
delicious peri-peri chicken, and you can choose from a large variety of
delicious veggies as sides. Or, Taco
Fiesta makes delicious Mexican meals. Indulge in a veggie burrito bowl, or
try a fish taco. Beans make for a nutritious and protein-packed side.
Bambao makes delicious steamed bun sandwiches, signature rice bowls—which can be
substituted for cauliflower rice, and classic Chinese dishes. Opt for the
Lemongrass Grilled Chicken Bown without mayo and cauliflower rice for a
delicious and nutritious meal!
East Deli has a large menu, with options like sandwiches, pizza, salads and
wings. Opt for nutritious options like their Greek Salad, Chopped Salad, Chef
Salad, or Maryland Crab Soup. Did you know you can sub any of their wraps for a
lettuce wrap? Try it with the Mac Attack!
Sushi is a great healthy option that is equally
delicious as it is Instagrammable! Chiu’s
Sushi and Azumi each have a lot of varieties of sushi. Try ordering a la carte so that you can
sample lots of different flavors. Maybe you’ll find a new healthy favorite!
Taverna serves delicious tastes of Lebanon, featuring authentic selections
like kabobs, lamb and artichoke stew, and more. Plus, they have a salad bar
with plenty of options for greens, veggies and additional proteins.
Roy’s is also
a great destination for sushi, or you can order a mixed plate with a sampling
of their finest, like the Shellfish Sample with Grilled Maine Lobster Tail,
Seared Sea Scallop, and Teppanyaki Shrimp. This is a great option for a special
occasion, or any occasion to treat yourself!
Bar also boasts enticing pescetarian-friendly entrees. We love the Tuna
Niçoise salad, made with seared tuna, yellow wax beans, cherry heirloom
tomatoes, red onion, fingerling potatoes, olives, pickled egg, and a lemon
The Bygone is perfect for a
celebration. Start with some fresh, chilled seafood to share, then, try the
Half Amish Chicken, which comes with brussel sprouts, mushrooms, and pommes
a brand new restaurant in Harbor East, blends South American cuisines with a
Mexican focus. Choose from traditional items with flair, like sliced wagyu
tacos or a marinated & grilled Carne Asada platter.
At Ouzo Bay, you can choose from
lots of scrumptious seafood items, like Maryland crab cakes or Chilean sea
bass. For a balanced meal, try a side of Greek lima beans or grilled asparagus.
Mezze has a similar reimagined spin on Greek food, like brussels sprouts
with Greek yogurt and olive bread crumbs and grilled lamb chops. Their menu
also has many gluten free options as well.
Finally, Tagliata offers great
Italian dining, but stick with their salads, soups, raw menu, and fish dishes
before you go for steak or pasta.
